Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the ultimate wood protection.
What makes Rubio Monocoat different from traditional wood stains?
Rubio Monocoat uses advanced molecular bonding technology to color and protect wood in a single layer. Unlike traditional stains, it does not form a film on top, meaning it won't flake or peel, and it maintains the natural look and feel of the wood.
Is one coat really enough for full protection?
Yes. Once the Oil Plus 2C bonds with the wood fibers, the wood cannot absorb any more product. This makes it impossible to have overlaps or starting marks, ensuring a consistent finish in just one application.
How long does it take for the finish to cure?
When using Oil Plus 2C with the Accelerator, the wood is 80% cured within 48 hours. A full cure is reached after 5 days, at which point it is completely water and stain resistant.
Are your products eco-friendly and safe for indoor use?
Absolutely. Rubio Monocoat products are 0% VOC, meaning they contain no volatile organic compounds. They are safe for use in kitchens, on children’s furniture, and throughout the home without harmful fumes.
What is your return policy for opened cans?
Due to the nature of the product and chemical stability, we can only accept returns on unopened and factory-sealed containers within 30 days of purchase. We recommend purchasing a sample size first to test your color.
How should I maintain my Rubio Monocoat finished surfaces?
For regular cleaning, we recommend using Rubio Monocoat Soap or Surface Care Spray. These products are specifically formulated to clean without stripping the oil protection, keeping your surfaces beautiful for years.
